Last week I had an interesting day. I had turned down an offer to be a photographer at a wedding. I haven’t done any weddings, and I just don’t have all the equipment I need to do it right.
But the family asked me if I would do a video recording of the wedding instead, from a stationary position, and I would only need to record the wedding itself. Sure! It was a good decision.
On Wedding Day, I also brought my DSLR and kept it handy, taking shots when the video was chugging along and had no where to go. That was fun. I was also able to see the photographer who took the job at work, and got a bit of practice as a second shooter at a wedding.
As a child, I grew up thinking of weddings like this boy (who I photographed at the same wedding.) As an adult, I would still tend to shy away from weddings – my own wedding 30 years ago being the only notable exception.
But as a photographer, weddings can really be golden!
So, here it is. My contribution to marital harmony!
